2024 Show Season and Conversation

It is that time of year. I along with everyone is excited to see what this show season brings and that it is one of the best. With a long cold winter hopefully behind us, spring leads the beginning of show season, trail rides with friends, fresh flowers and the hope of something new.

As we look forward to show season 2024 may we take time and reflect on our blessings. We all have known the love of a good horse and what pleasure they bring to our lives. As well as friends we see each weekend at a horse show. Take time and give thought on the reason we participate in this hobby throughout this show season. May we compete for the love of the horse, be gracious as we win, as well as lose. Say congratulations and mean it.

Here's to a great 2024 show season.

The month of April bring five great horse shows and I hope you can attend them all. Starting April off is Walking in the Smokies horse show in the Great Smoky Mountains, second, we move to Cleveland for the Ocoee Spring Fling, then we take a walk down the board walk for the Palmetto Saddle Club Show and rounding out the month is the weekend of NCWHA shows - the Spring Show and Ladies Auxiliary Show. We hope to see everyone rail side.

ETWHA Mission Statement

  • The members of the East Tennessee Walking Horse Association are a diverse group of people with a common goal. To some of our members the walking horse represents their chosen profession. To others the horse represents their greatest pleasure. The goal of all of us is to secure the future of the walking horse. This is our highest priority.
  • Since any organization is made up of individuals with varying opinions and viewpoints, the situation demands of us that we work in the spirit of commitment, cooperation and most importantly unity. Therefore, we agree that to the best of our ability we will do, not what is best for us as individuals, but what is best for the walking horse.
